Mikael Fernstrom

Mikael Fernström is one of the original members of the Interaction Design Centre. He was Director of the IDC between 2010 and 2020 and a lecturer  in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at the University of Limerick between 1996 and 2020. He has retired from UL and is now working indepedently, based in West Cork.
His research interests cover a range of topics:

  • Interaction Design
  • Auditory Display
  • Physical input and output devices
  • Ubiquitous computing
  • Sensors
  • Electronics
  • Sound
  • Music
  • Art-Science collaboration

He has managed and participated in numerous projects, in local, national, EU and international contexts.

He is available for consultancy and research collaboration.
