Marc McLoughlin

Marc was a successful Doctoral student in the IDC working on the IMS ARC project. Marc also holds a B.Eng in Digital Media Engineering (1st class honours) from Dublin City University and an Msc from the University of Limerick. His research interests are focused on people’s experience of Ubiquitous Systems, technologies supporting social interaction and collaboration, embodied design and technical innovations in mobile/embedded systems design. He has worked on several research projects examining the design of technology in public spaces, the development of mobile interaction platforms, and the deployment of technical interventions in urban areas and cultural heritage sites. He is particularly interested in broadening the understanding of mobile technologies and their role in shaping collaborative/participant interaction.

Marc currently works at Ericsson LMI, researching and developing innovative user interface environments to support mobile operators in managing, optimizing and analyzing next generation mobile phone networks using rich client and visualisation technologies.
