Chidi Usanga

Chidi Usanga is a PhD candidate in the Computer Science & Information Systems department, UL. He worked for 2 decades in IT, design and project management roles monitoring the environment, engaging multinational energy corporations and their shareholders, government’s regulatory agencies and community-based stakeholders on environmental sustainability and sustainable development.

His PhD is a sustainability research & design project seeking to digitally ‘give voice’ to non-human biological entities in/around the Shannon River in Ireland. He seeks to do that using new and emerging technologies including sensors/actuators, visualisation/sonification, etc. by augmenting/amplifying and translating signals from the entities to humans towards improved remediation/restorative practices.
